President
I was hired by the library in December 1996 as the archivist for the Long Island Division, now Archives at Queens Library. I worked in the Archives until 2010 when I became the President of Local 1321. In 1997, I attended my first union meeting and ran for DC 37 delegate in 1998. I was elected the Librarian Representative in 2000 and then Vice President for Librarians in 2001. In 2002, I was elected Executive Vice President and served in that capacity until 2010.
Our union is us. I believe that united in a strong union, all Queens Library workers advocate for and maintains an equitable workplace with decent salaries and benefits. As president of our union, I want to foster that unity and strength.
